Notwithstanding anything contained in the Kerala Municipalities Act, 1960 (14 of 1961), the term of office of the councillors of all the municipalities constituted under the said Act, other than the Changanacherry and Tirur Municipalities, which expires on the 1 st day of November, 1978, shall extend upto noon on the 1st day of October, 1979.
