Notwithstanding anything contained in the Kerala Municipalities Act, 1960 (14 of 1961), the term of office of the councillors of all the municipalities constituted under the said Act, other than the Palai, Punalur, Chalakudy, Tirur and Malappuram Municipalities, which expires on the first day of June, 1974, shall extend upto noon on the [first day of October 1979.] Substituted by Acts 3/1975, 48/1976, 9/1978 and 7/1979.
