(1) On receipt of an application for the grant or renewal of a quarrying lease the competent authority, on making such enquiries as is found necessary, may sanction the grant or renewal of quarrying lease to the applicant or refuse to sanction it. (2) An application for the grant of a quarrying lease shall be disposed of within six months from the date of its receipt. (3) An application for the renewal of a quarrying lease shall be disposed of within three months from the date of its receipt, (4) If any application is not disposed of within the period specified in sub-rule (2) or sub-rule (3), it shall be deemed to have been refused.
