Section 98

Power of Assistant Commissioner to act for Area Committee in an emergency

The Assistant Commissioner may, in cases of emergency, direct the doing of any act which would ordinarily have to be done by the Area Committee, if the immediate doing of such act is, in his opinion, necessary in the interest of a religious institution. Provided that the Assistant Commissioner shall not act under this section in contravention of any order of the Area Committee prohibiting the doing of any particular act: Provided further that he shall report the action taken under this section and the reasons therefor to the Committee at its next meeting; and the Committee may annul, modify or reverse the order passed by the Assistant Commissioner.
