Section 13

Payment of compensation

If the Lok Ayukta or an Upa-Lok Ayukta is satisfied that: (a) all or any of the allegations made in a complaint have or has been substantiated, either wholly or partly, and (b) having regard to the expenses incurred by the complaint in relation to the proceedings in respect of such complaint and all other relevant circumstances of the case, the complaint deserves to be compensated, the Lok Ayukta or an Upa-Lok Ayukta, as the case may be, shall determine the amount, which shall be paid to the complainant by way of compensation and the Lok Ayukta or an Upa-Lok Ayukta, as the case may be, shall determine the person by whom, the said compensation shall be paid, after giving that person a reasonable opportunity of being heard.
