Payment oj compensatwn.-( l) On receipt of the compensa- tion roll under section 90, the Land Board shall pay the compensation to the persons entitled thereto, subject to the provisions of sub-sectiOn (2). (2) Where the land or the ownership or possession of land which has vested in the Government, is subject to any encumbrance, mam- tenance or alimony, the value of the encumbrance, maintenance or alimony shall be deducted from the compensation amount payable to the person liable for such encumbrance, maintenance or alimony. If the total amount of such encumbrace, maintenance or alimony is more than the amount of compensation, the compensation amount shall be distributed to the holders of the encumbrance and persons entitled to the maintenance or alimony in the order of pnority. (3) The Land Board shall also pay the mortgage amount pay- able to a mortgagee under clause (zi) of sub-section (4) of sectiOn 88.
