Section 9A

Certain surrender documents to be inadmissible in evidence.--

Where any tenant has executed before the 19th day of May, 1967, a deed surrendering or purporting to surrender to his landlord his lease-hold rights in any land situate in the taluk of Hosdurg or Kasaragod in the Cannanore district, such deed if unregistered shall, notwithstanding anything contained in the Indian Evidence Act, 1872. be inadmissible in evidence in any dispute regarding possession of such land between such tenant or any person claiming under or through him and such landlord or any person claiming under or through him.] Inserted by Act 35 of 1969.
