Section 79

Right of kudikidappukaran to maintain, repair etc; homestead or hut.--

The kudikidappukaran shall have the right to maintain, repair and reconstruct with the same or different materials, but without increasing the plinth area [at the commencement of the Kerala Land Reforms (Amendment) Act, 1969 by more than fifty per cent], the hut belonging to the person who permitted occupation by the kudikidappukaran, or the homestead, at his own cost. [Explanation.-- In this section and in section 79A, "homestead" includes a dwelling house occupied by a person who is deemed to be a kudikidappukaran under Explanation IIA to clause (25) of section 2], Inserted by Act 35 of 1969, published in K.G.Ext. No. 295 dt. 17/12/1969 (w.e.f. 01/01/1970). Added by Act 17 of 1972.
