Section 120

Penalty for making false declaration.--

[(1) After the commencement of the Kerala Land Reforms (Amendment) Act. 1969, no document relating to any transfer of land shall be received for registration under the Indian Registration Act, 1908, unless the transferor and the transferee make separate declarations in writing (in duplicate) in such form as may be prescribed as to the total extent of land held by him. (1A) The registering officer shall forward a copy of the declarations made under sub-section (1) to the officer authorised by the Government in this behalf for such action as may be necessary.] (2) If any person makes any declaration before the registering officer under sub-section (1), which he knows or has reason to believe to be false, he shall be punishable with fine not exceeding one thousand rupees.
