Appointment of Administrator.—(1) The Committee shall appoint an officer of Government not below the rank of Under Secretary or Deputy Collector to be the Administrator for the Devaswom, from among a panel of names furnished by the Government. (2) No person shall be appointed under sub-section (1) unless he professes the Hindu Religion and believes in temple worship. (3) The Administrator appointed under the Koodalmanickam Devaswom Act, 1971 (7 of 1971) and holding office at the commencement of this Act, shall, until the appointment of an Administrator under sub-section (1) or till the expiry of a period of three months from such commencement, whichever is earlier, be deemed to be the Administrator appointed under sub-section (1).
