Certification of quality of fish .—(1)When an application is submitted in the manner as may be prescribed, the producer shall be eligible to get quality certificate for the fish, for ensuring that it is edible and for protecting the interest of consumers. 19 (2) The quality needed for the fish for obtaining certificate as per sub-section (1) shall be fixed separately and published by the State Level Fish Quality Maintenance Committee constituted as per section 16. (3) The certificate under sub-section (1) shall be issued by an officer not below the rank of Fisheries Extension Officer in the Fisheries Department, authorised by Government through notification, by complying the procedures as may be prescribed.
