(1) A report on the incidence of theft of electricity shall be made by the authorised officer under sub-section (1A) of Section 135 of the Act, to the Station House Officer of the Police Station having territorial jurisdiction over the place of occurrence, within twenty four hours from the time of disconnection. (2) All material evidences such as wires, cables, meter, service line and other equipment or material which were used for the commission of offence, shall be seized and handed over to the police along with the original site mahazar under proper acknowledgement for initiation of criminal proceedings. (3) If testing of meter and associated equipment is required, it shall be got done in an accredited laboratory or in an approved laboratory and the test report shall be given to the police for further action.
