(1) The Port Conservator or Senior Port Conservator of any Port shall carry out the duties of the Safety Officers as provided in Schedule III when the total number of workers ordinarily employed restrict to 2000. For workers more than 2000 at a time, there shall be two Safety Officers appointed by the employer of dock workers individually or forming a group amongst them with the written permission of the Chief Inspector. (2) The duties, qualifications and conditions of Service of the Safety Officer shall be as provided in Schedule III.
