In the Madras Irrigation Works (Repairs, Improvement and Construction) Act, 1943 (Madras Act XVIII of 1943),- (1) to section 6, the following explanation shall be added namely:- "Explanation.- For the purpose of this section, 'District Collector' means the Secretary as defined in clause (43) of section 2 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (Act 20 of 1994) or in clause (XL) of Section 2 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Act 13 of 1994) (2) in sub-section (1) of section 7,- (i) the words "Fort St. George" shall be omitted; (ii) for the words "to any person or authority subordinate to the State Government" the words "to the Panchayat and Municipalities, as the case may be, constituted under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (13 of 1994) and the Kerala Municipality Act 1994 (20 of 1994) respectively", shall be substituted.
