Defznittons.-In this Act, unless the context othe1wise reqUires,- ( a) " Collector '' means the chief officer in charge of the revenue administration of a district and mcludes an acting or officiating Collector and also any officer appointed by the Government to exercise the functions of a Collector under this Act; (b) " court " means the Court of Wards; (c) "minor" means a person who, under the provisions of the Indian Majority Act, 1875 (9 of 1875), has not attained majority; (d) " proprietor" means a persons who owns or has a life· interest in land either solely or as a co-q}mrer ; - (e) " ward" means a person who has been made a ward of the court under section 18. • Publi~hcd m the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 23, dated 14th February,
