In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Collector" means the chief officer in charge of the revenue administration of a district and includes an acting or officiating Collector and also any officer appointed by the Government to exercise the functions of a Collector under this Act; (b) "court" means the Court of Wards; (c) "minor" means a person who, under the provisions of the Indian Majority Act, 1875 (9 of 1875), has not attained majority; (d) "proprietor" means a person who owns or has a life-interest in land either solely or as a co-sharer; (e) "ward" means a person who has been made a ward of the court under section 18,
