Section 31

Suits relating to easements.--

In a suit relating to an easement, whether by the dominant or the servient owner, or to a licence as defined in the law relating to easements for the time being in force, fee shall be computed on the amount at which the relief sought is valued in the plaint, or on [rupees five thousand], whichever is higher: Provided that, where compensation is claimed besides other relief relating to such easement or licence fee shall be paid on the amount claimed as compensation in addition to the fee payable on such other relief. Substituted by Act 3 of 2025, Published in K. G. Ext. No. 1269 dt. 29/03/2025 (w.e.f. 01/04/2025). Prior to the Substitution it read as: "rupees one thousand"
