(2) (a) (b) (c) (d) 29 Subject tothe provision of this Act, each Faculty shallexercise such powers and perform such duties as maybe prescribed by the Statutes. There shallbe a Dean for each Faculty, who shall be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor. The Dean of each Faculty shall be responsible for the due observance of the Statutes, Regulations and Ordinances and in guiding the deliberations of the Faculty. The Dean of a Faculty shallhold office for a term of three years. Boards of Studies. -(1) There shall be a Board of Studies for each branch of study or branches of Studies as the syndicate may decide. The constitution and powers of the Boards of studies shall be prescribed by the Statutes. Planning Committe.-(1) There shall be a Planning Committee with a person deputed by the Syndicate as Chariman to advise the Syndicate and the Academic Concil onany matter, which it considers necessary for the fulfilment of the objectives of the University. The Planning Committee shall be respobsible for- The overall planning of the development of the University in the perspective of five years; the delineation of desirable direction of growth; monitoring the implementation of programmes approved by the Syndicate; and assessing the overall performance of the University in achieving targets set for the plan period.
