(1) In either of the following cases, viz:- (a) Where there is danger that a tree standing near the tramway may fall on the tramway so as to obstruct traffic. (b) When a tree obstructs the view of any fixed signal the Forest Engineer or Conservator may cause a tree to be felled, to deal with it in such other manner as will, in the opinion of the Forest Engineer or Conservator, avert the danger or remove the obstruction, as the case may be. (2) In case in which the Forest Engineer exercises the powers conferred by sub-section (1), he shall, within two days of felling a tree or dealing with it otherwise, report the matter to the Conservator. (3) The Conservator shall; on application of the persons interested in the tree, award to those persons such compensation as he thinks reasonable.
