Notwithstanding anything contained in the Kerala Municipalities Act, 1960, (14 of 1961), the term of office of the councillors of the Chalakudy and Malappuram Municipalities constituted under the said Act, which expires on the 30th day of November, 1976, shall extend up to the 1st day of November, 1977.
