Powers of Police to investigate offences under section 24 —Notwithstand- ing the provisions contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 any Police Officer may investigate without the order of a Magistrate into an offence under section 24 as ifit were a cogmzable case, but he shall not arrest without warrant from a Magistrate any person accused of offence under section 24.
