Section 9

Cognizance and trial of offences

(1) No court inferior to that of a Judicial Magistrate of the first class shall try any offence punishable under this Act. (2) No court shall take cognizance of an offence punishable under this Act except upon a complaint made with the sanction of the Government or an officer authorised by them in this behalf. (3) No court shall take cognizance of an offence punishable under this Act unless complaint thereof is made within three months from the date on which sanction is granted under this section.
