Appointment of officers and staff.—(1) The Government may appoint a Chief Executive Officer and such number of other officers and staff as they consider necessary to assist the Board in the discharge of its functions and duties under this Act. (2) Subject to the provision of sub-section (3), the method of appointment, salary and allowances, discipline and other conditions of service of the Chief Executive Officer and the other Officers and staff appointed under sub-section (1) shall be such as may be prescribed by Government. (3) In the case of posts in the service under the Board to which appointment is made by direct recruitment,— (a) fifty per cent shall be reserved for appointmnet from among candidates belonging to the families of the bamboo, kattuvalli or pandanus leaf workers and self-employed persons; and (b) the other fifty per cent shall be filled up by following the procedure laid down in the kErala State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1958.
