(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, the members of the staff of the University shall be appointed by the Executive Committee. (2) a) Except in cases otherwise provided for in this Act and the Statutes, every salaried officer and teacher of the University shall be appointed under a written contract. b) The contract shall be lodged with the Vice-Chancellor and a copy thereof shall be furnished for the officer or teacher concerned.The contract shall not be inconsistant with the provisions of this Act and the Statutes for the time being in force in relation to conditions of service. (3) The procedure for selection of officers, teachers and other employees of the University shall unless otherwise provided for in this Act, be such as may be prescribed. [(4) The normal retirement age of the Deans of Faculties, the Director of Research, the Director of Extension, the Director of Veterinary Research and Education, [the Director of Post Graduate Studies, the Professors and the other categories of teachers of the University] shall be sixty years]. [(5) The normal retirement age of officers of the University other than the Chancellor, the Pro-Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor and those specified in sub-section (4) shall be fifty five years].
