Inserted by Act, 22 of 2014 w.e.f. 03.07.2014. (5) The Chancellor may direct that a Vice-Chancellor whose term of office has expired shall continue in the office for such period not exceeding one year as may be specified in the direction. (6) The emoluments and other service conditions of the Vice-Chancellor shall be such as may be determined by the Chancellor and shall not be varied to his disadvantage after his appointment. (7) Where a temporary vacancy occurs or is likely to occur in the office of the Vice- Chancellor by reason of leave, illness or other cause, other than the expiry of the term, the Executive Council shall as soon as possible and subject to approval of the Chancellor make such arrangements for carrying on the duties of the office of the Vice Chancellor as it may think fit and until other arrangements are made, such officer of the University as may be nominated by the Chancellor for the purpose shall carry on the current duties of the office of the Vice Chancellor.
