Power to revoke or vary town planning scheme.—(1) Notwith-standing anything contained in section 48, a Town Planning scheme may at any time be varied or revoked by a subsequent scheme made, published and sanctioned in accordance with this Act. (2) The State Government,- (a) on the application of the Planning Authority, or (b) of its own motion, after making such enquiry as it deems fit and after giving the Planning Authority an opportunity to be heard, may at any time, after consulting the Director, by notification, revoke a Town Planning scheme if it is satisfied that under the special circumstances of the case the scheme should be revoked.
