The Dean.- (1) Every Dean shall be appointed by the Board of Management on the recommendation of ,- (i) the Vice-Chancellor, in case the candidate to be appointed is already a teacher of the University; and (ii) a Selection Committee constituted for the purpose, in case the candidate to be appointed is from outside the University. (2) Every Dean shall be a whole time salaried officer of the University: Provided that one of the Deans shall be in-charge of the administrative affairs of the teachers. (3) The emoluments and other conditions of service of the Dean shall be prescribed by the Ordinances: Provided that a Dean shall retire on attaining the age of sixty years. (4) A Dean shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be prescribed by the Ordinances.
