The Board of Management.- (1) The Board of Management shall be the principal executive body of the University, consisting of the following members :- (1) the Vice-Chancellor; (2) the Registrar; (3) the Secretary in charge of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka; (4) the Secretary to Finance Department; (5) a Vice-Chancellor of the Universities in the State of Karnataka nominated by the pro-chancellor by rotation for such period as may be specified; (6) the Dean (Academic); (7) five distinguished persons from the educational, scientific and administrative fields to be nominated by the Pro-Chancellor: Provided that from amongst the nominated persons under this clause, one shall be a person belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and two shall be women; (8) two Members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elected from among themselves; (9) two Members of the Karnataka Legislative Council elected from among themselves. 11 (2) The Board of Management shall have the powers,- (i) to manage and administer the properties and revenues of the University; (ii) to conduct all administrative affairs and shall exercise ,- (a) such other powers of the University as may be necessary, incidental or conducive to the fulfillment of the objectives of the University; and (b) such other powers as may be prescribed by the statutes.
