The Academic Council. - (1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following, namely: - (i) The Vice-Chancellor as the Chairperson; (ii) The Pro-Vice-Chancellor – Member; (iii) The Registrar – Member-Secretary; (iv) The Controller of Examinations – Member; (v) One Nominee of the Board of Governors – Member; (vi) One Nominee of the Board of Management – Member; (vii) The Dean or Director – Member; and (viii) Such other members as may be specified by the Statutes. (2) The Academic Council shall be the Principal Academic Body of the University and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes, Regulations and the Rules, co-ordinate and exercise general supervision over the academic policies of the University. (3) The powers, duties and functions of the Academic Council shall be as prescribed by the Statutes. (4) The Academic Council shall meet at least two times in a year. (5) The quorum for every meeting of the Academic Council shall be one third of the membership of the Council.
