Section 40

Power to make rules

Power to make rules.—(1) The State Government may by notification, make rules to carry out the purposes of this Act. (2) In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, rules made under sub-section (1) may provide in respect of the health and safety and welfare of employees. (3) In making rules under this section, the State Government may provide that a contravention of any rule shall be punishable with a fine which may extend to 1[ten thousand rupees]1.
