Penalty for maliciously giving false information.—Any person who, maliciously and falsely gives information to any person exercising powers under this Act leading to a search, seizure, detention or arrest, shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both. 32
