Power to obtain information.—(1) The Deputy Commissioner, or any Prohibition Officer specially empowered in this behalf by the State Government or any Police Officer may, by order, require any person to furnish to any specified authority or person any such information in his possession concerning any intoxicant, hemp, mhowra flowers or molasses as may be specified in the order. (2) If any person fails to furnish any information in compliance with an order made under sub-section (1) or furnishes false information, he shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or with both.
