Protection of officers, etc.—(1) All officers and all persons appointed or authorised to perform any duty or exercise any power under any provisions of this Act or under any rule or order made thereunder shall be deemed when acting or purporting to act in pursuance of any of the provisions of this Act, or any rule or order made thereunder to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code. (2) No suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding shall lie against any officer or person appointed or authorised to perform any duty or exercise any power under any provision of this Act or under any rule or order made thereunder for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act. (3) No suit or other legal proceeding shall lie against the State Government for any damage caused by anything in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act.
