Establishment of Gig Workers Welfare Board.- (1) The State Government shall, with effect from such date as it may appoint, establish a Board to be known as the Karnataka Platform Based Gig Workers Welfare Board to exercise the powers conferred on, and perform the duties and functions assigned to it, under this Act. (2) The Board shall, as and when necessary, notify general or sector specific social security and other benefits that shall be implemented by the Board within the time frame specified by the State Government. (3) The headquarters of the Board shall be at Bengaluru. (4) The Board shall be a body corporate with the name aforesaid, having perpetual succession and common seal, with power to acquire, hold and dispose of property, and to contract, and may by that name, sue or be sued.
