Short title, commencement and application.- (1) This Act may be called the Karnataka Platform Based Gig Workers (Social Security and Welfare) Act, 2025. (2) The provisions of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 30th day of May, 2025; (3) It applies to,- (i) every aggregator or platform operating or providing any one or more services specified in the Schedule within the State of Karnataka and as amended by the Government from time to time. (ii) every platform as defined under clause (g) of section 2; and (iii) every Gig worker registered with the Board under section 10.
