Police and municipal officers to aid fire-brigade.—(1) It shall be the duty of all police officers and of all municipal officers and servants to aid a fire-brigade in the execution of its duties. Such officers and servants may close any street in or near which a fire is burning and remove any persons who interfere by their presence with the operations of the fire-brigade. (2) No person shall set a naked light on or near any building in any public street or other public place in such manner as to cause danger of fire: Provided that nothing in this section shall be deemed to prohibit the use of lights for the purpose of illumination on the occasion of a festival or public or private entertainment.
