Penalty for molestation.— Whoever molests, or abets the molestation of, a debtor for the recovery of a debt due by him to a creditor shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment which 2[1[may extend to 3[ten years]3 or with fine which may extend to 3[five lakh]3 rupees or with both]1]2.
