Power to remove difficulties

Power to remove difficulties.- (1) If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the provisions of this Act, particularly in relation to the transition from the enactment repealed by this Act to the provisions of this Act the Government may, by general or special order, do anything not 40 inconsistent with such provisions which appears to be necessary or expedient for the purpose of removing the difficulty: Provided that no such order shall be made in respect of a port after the expiry of a period of two years from the appointed day. (2) Every order made under sub-section (1) shall as soon as may be after it is made, be laid before the State Legislature.
