Determination of encumbrances and payment of 1[the amount]1.-(1) 1[The Tahsildar while determining the amount under section 48B]1 shall determine any mortgage or other encumbrance lawfully subsisting on the land on the date of vesting, and the amount due under the mortgage or the encumbrance in respect of such land shall 2[save as provided in section 106]2 be a charge on the 1[amount]1 payable in respect of such land to the person who has created the mortgage or encumbrance.
