Procedure for recovery of rent.—(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any agreement or in any law for the time being in force, no suit or other proceeding shall lie in any Court or before any other authority for recovery of any rent payable by a tenant, except as provided in this section. (2) A landlord claiming payment of rent by a tenant may apply to the 1[Tahsildar]1 in the prescribed form for an order directing the tenant to pay the rent due to the landlord.
