Betterment contribution.—If at any time any amount is levied or imposed by the Government on a land held by a permanent tenant as betterment contribution under the provisions of the 1[Karnataka]1 Irrigation (Levy of Betterment Contribution and Water Rate) Act, 1957, or under any other provision of law, the permanent tenant thereof shall be liable to pay such amount to the Government.
