Establishment of the University.- (1) For furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of research in folklore there shall be established a University by the name called “The Karnataka Janapada Vishwavidyalaya”. (2) The University shall be a body corporate and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said name. (3) The University shall be of the unitary and residential nature. (4) No institution affiliated to, or associated with, or maintained by any other University in the State shall be recognised by the University for any purpose, except with the prior approval of the Government and the concerned University. 5 (5) The headquarters of the University shall be located within the limits of ten kilometers of Gotagodi area of Shiggavi Taluk of Haveri district. (6) The University shall have the power to open the regional centres at suitable places in other parts of the State.
