Removal of Institution authorised to hold qualifying examination.—If it shall appear to the State Government on the report of the Board or otherwise that the instruction given in any recognised institution or the qualifying examination conducted by any of the institutions recognised to hold such examinations are not such as to secure the maintenance of the adequate standard of proficiency for the practice of surgery and midwifery and homœopathic medicine, it shall be lawful for the State Government from time to time to direct that the recognition of any institution for the purpose of giving instruction or holding an examination under section 27 shall be withdrawn and the said institution shall not be authorised to give instruction or to hold the examination, as the case may be: Provided that before any direction for the withdrawal of the recognition of any institution is made under this section, the said institution shall be required to take steps within such time as may be specified in this behalf by the State Government to remedy the defect.
