Penalties for contravention of waste management.- (1) Whosoever contravenes or fails to comply with any of the provisions of the Waste Management rules or bye-laws shall be punished with a fine of not more than rupees two lakhs as determined by such applicable rules or byelaws. (2) The Commissioner shall also take appropriate action including the imposition of penalties initiation of disciplinary action against those employees who fail to discharge their functions in accordance with the Act or through any Rules or Byelaws that may be issued for this purpose.
