Dissolution of Panchayats.- (1) If, 1[on the recomendation of the Taluk Panchayat, or otherwise the Zilla Panchayat is of the opinion that] 1, a Grama Panchayat exceeds or abuses its power or is not competent to perform or makes persistent default in the performance of the duties imposed on it under this Act or any other law for the time being in force the 1[Zilla Panchayat may] 1, by an order published in the official Gazette, dissolve such Grama Panchayat.
