The Infrastructure Development and Purchase Committee:- (1) Infrastructure Development and Purchase Committee be constituted to carry out minor and major infrastructure development/ maintenance and to approve purchases/ maintenance activities (Purchase of vehicles, gadgets, articles, furniture or any other maintenance items.) of the University efficiently subject to such rules made by the State Government in a time bound manner. (2) The Infrastructure Development and Purchase Committee shall consist of the following members namely:- (a) the Vice-Chancellor - Chairperson (b) the Principal Secretary to the Department of Higher Education or his nominee - Member (c) chief Engineer of the Public Works Department in charge of the region in which the University is situated, or his nominee not below the rank of Executive Engineer from that region - Member (d) one eminent Civil Engineer, nominated by the State Government from the private sector - Member (e) the Chief Architect of the State or his nominee - Member (f) one eminent Architect, nominated by the State Government from the private sector - Member (g) the Registrar - Member (h) the Finance Officer - Member (i) the University Engineer - Secretary (3) All the Members of the Committee, other than ex-officio Members shall hold Office for a term of three years and shall not be eligible for membership for a second term. (4) The rules and procedure for the functioning of the Infrastructure Development and Purchase Committee shall be as prescribed by rules by the State Government (buildings, roads or any other infrastructure undertaken in the University the estimate shall be prepared as per State Government PWD SR prevailing rates). (5) The Committee shall be governed by the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement Act, 1999 (Karnataka Act 29 of 2000) and Rules made in this behalf by the State Government from time to time.
