Effect of entrustment of powers and functions to 1[Mandal Panchayat]1.- Notwithstanding anything contained in the 1[Karnataka Zilla Parishads, Taluk Panchayat Samithis, Mandal Panchayats and Nyaya Panchayats Act, 1983, a Mandal Panchayat]1 shall be competent to exercise the powers and perform the duties entrusted to it under sub- section (1) of section 97, in such manner as may be prescribed.
