By-election.- If the seat of any elected member becomes vacant on account of resignation or death or cessation of membership under section 104, the vacancy shall be filled up as soon as may be after the occurrence of such vacancy by the election of another person thereto. *106. Term of office of the members of the Board.- The elected members of the Board shall, save as otherwise provided in this Act, hold office for a period of 1[five years.]1 * See foot note below section 61
