Prohibition of pollution of water by steeping therein animal or other matter. – (1) No person shall – >kj[k.M xtV ¼vlk/kkj.k½] o`gLifrokj 9 Qjojh] 2012 573 (a) steep in any tank, reservoir, wells,trough or ditch any animal, vegetable or mineral matter likely to render the water thereof offensive or dangerous to health; (b) whilst suffering from any contagious, infectious or loathsome disease, bathe in or near any lake, tank reservoir, fountain, cistern, duct, stand-pipe, stream, well or trough, or any part of river within the limits of the municipality or within five kilo meters upstream from the municipal boundary. (2) Any person who contravenes any order of the Municipal Commissioner or the Executive Officer under sub-section (1) shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees.
