Destruction of animals and articles seized – (1) When any animal, food, drink, utensil or vessel is seized under sub-section (2) of section 324 it may be destroyed by the officer making the seizure with consent of the owner or the person in whose possession it was found. (2) The officer destroying any animal, food, drink, utensil or vessel under sub- section (1) shall report such destruction to the Municipal Commissioner or the Executive Officer. (3) If any food or drink seized under sub-section (1) is of a perishable nature and is in the opinion of the officer making seizure, infected, unfit for human consumption, it may, with the previous sanction of the Municipal Commissioner or the Executive Officer, be destroyed without the consent referred to in sub-section (1). (4) No claim for compensation or damage shall be entertained from any person in respect of any animal or article destroyed under sub-section (1) or (3).
